A Big Day and a Big Result!
The final tally is not yet in for the tenth annual Shearing for Kids with Cancer event, but organisers are confident that the grand total will break the previous record of $66,000!
A highlight of the day was a message from Lori Perry, read out by her
mother Caylee, thanking everyone for their hard work and support. Special
thanks went to Katrina and Bill Ogden who are the power behind the day,
and to Bill and Val Barlow whose shearing shed features each year.
The shearing event was first organised to support Lori who was
undergoing cancer treatment, and it has continued over the years to raise
funds for research and facilities for kids with cancer. The current event
focuses on raising money for My Room Children’s Cancer Charity, a service
which Lori appreciates as she continues her treatment.
