About the Waranga News

The Waranga News has been published since 1978. It is a not-for-profit community newspaper, written, edited and produced by volunteers, and it comes out every fortnight.

We cover Colbinabbin, Corop, Girgarre, Kyabram, Murchison, Nagambie, Rushworth, Stanhope, Tatura and Toolleen: council matters, local sport, schools, churches, clubs, farming, births, deaths and anniversaries, and the history of the district. If it matters in our towns, we try to get it in the paper.

Who we are

The paper is run by the Waranga News Committee based in Rushworth. Our volunteers write, photograph, proofread, lay out and deliver each edition. We are funded by subscriptions, local advertising and donations, and every dollar goes back into producing the paper.

Getting the paper

Printed copies are sold at local outlets and can be posted to subscribers
anywhere in Australia. Online subscribers can read every edition on this site,
and the Editions page holds the back issues. Our 50 Years Ago column draws on
the archives of the Rushworth Chronicle, predating the Waranga News.

Contributing

We welcome news, letters, photographs and notices from readers. Copy for the
