New Committee steps up for Easter Festival

Rushworth’s popular Easter Festival is set to go ahead for 2017 with the election of a new Festival Committee and Parade Coordinator.

Following the Rushworth Easter Festival Inc AGM in July which failed to elect a new committee, a public meeting was held on Monday evening, with a view to either electing a new committee or winding up the incorprated body.

The full house (about forty people) indicated there was plenty of interest in keeping the festival alive and, after an intially slow start, a new committee came forward to takeover the reigns.

The meeting was unanimous in expressing congratulations and gratitude to the previous committee members, many of whom had been the driving force behind the Easter Festival since its beginning.
